Governor of the Ulyanovsk region has held a number of meetings and negotiations in Japan
On 24 November, Sergey Morozov met with the management of Isuzu.
“We discussed expansion
of trucks production at the plant, which is located in the region and is one of
the largest and most successful projects in Russia. The company is driving up
the growth rate. The work is carried out in two shifts and in the nearest
future; the third one will be launched. Before year-end, it is planned to
produce 4.5 thousand cars. At the same time, the plant continues to support its
staff members and provides them with one of the highest salaries in the region”,
– the head of the region noted.
More than 60 innovations have been implemented at the Isuzu plant in Ulyanovsk. The products made there meet the highest environmental standards. During the meeting, the parties discussed creation of a Japanese industrial cluster in the region. They also noted that the investment projects successfully implemented here will become a good basis.
In addition, the head of the region met with Mitsuyuki Takada, the Senior Vice-President and the General Manager for Global Strategy & Coordination of Mitsubishi Corporation. They discussed further cooperation.
Sergey Morozov also held a working meeting with Bridgestone Corporation, which plans to implement new projects in the territory of the Ulyanovsk region. On 25 May, a ceremony was held to mark the opening of the first in Russia and the CIS Bridgestone plant on production of buses. Investments into the project made 12.5 billion rubles and about 600 jobs were created for inhabitants of the region.
