Mikhail Babich has highly praised equipment of the Worldskills Interregional Competence Center in the Ulyanovsk region
On 1 December, the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District and the Governor Sergey Morozov examined training grounds of this educational facility.
Mikhail Babich was briefed on the work of such platforms as "Servicing of Aviation Equipment", "Servicing of Cargo Vehicles", "Repair and servicing of Light Vehicles", "Body Repair", Car Painting" and "Service of Agricultural Machinery". After the survey, the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District noted that the Interregional Competence Center has great learning facilities that are provided with high-end equipment.
The Ulyanovsk region has become one of the seven places in the Russian Federation to create an Interregional Competence Center (ICC). ICC has been actively participating in the WorldSkills movement since 2013. It also carries out professional skills championships. Since 1 September 2017, the educational facility has been training people in fifty of the most popular and promising professions in Russia.
“Today our country, as well as our productions, need competent workers - highly skilled mechanics, turners and mechanics. The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and heads of large industrial companies of the country repeated this on many occasions. We are extremely pleased that the Ulyanovsk region has won the competition and got an opportunity to create an ICC in the sphere of logistics. It is especially relevant to our region as we have two international airports, the largest airline company of Russia, the Civil Aviation Institute and the Port Special Economic Zone, where the first logistic center has already been created”, - Sergey Morozov said.
Now ICC consists of several training grounds, which provides exercises in six WorldSkills competences. The Center also carries out training of the national team and the regional one for participation in national and international competitions.
According to the Minister of Education and Science Natalya Semyonova, training center for 100 seats and a hostel for 200 people will start work on 1 February 2018. By this time, it is planned to finish repair and installation of the purchased equipment. The total funding for the project on creation of the ICC was about 670 million rubles.
The ICC training center carries out extensive training of personnel and mid-tier experts according to the international standards and advanced technologies. It also works on development and testing of experimental educational programmes in professions and specialties from the TOP-50 list.
