Dmitry Zubov: "Ulyanovsk region is the leader in development of cooperation systems"
The following statement was made by the chairman of the Central Union of Consumer Societies of the Russian Federation ( Centrosoyuz) during the working visit to the region on 18 January.
The federal expert got familiar with the preparations for the All-Russian Forum "NEW COOPERATION", which will take place in the Ulyanovsk region on 8 February. It is planned that representatives from 76 subjects of Russia will become its participants.
Dmitry Zubov visited venues of the forum and met with young entrepreneurs. They discussed future development of the cooperative movement. In addition, Dmitry Zumov participated in a meeting of the organizing committee for preparation to the event.
“I am sure that the forum will be successful. The main objective of the event is to attract new active entrepreneurs and members of youth. It is no coincidence that the Ulyanovsk region was selected as the venue for the event - this region is the leader in this sphere and has a well developed consumer and agricultural cooperations. This sphere is supported by heads of the region led by the Governor and they are a great team. With the help of the region, we want to show productive work of the industry so that representatives of the whole country would learn about it and adopt the experience, - Dmitry Zubov emphasized. - Soon there will be a center of youth cooperation in the region. Children will be able to come here and just talk to each other. This will be the place for them to share their ideas”.
During the meeting of the organizing committee, the Governor Sergey Morozov and the Chairman of Centrosoyuz of the Russian Federation Dmitry Zubov signed an agreement on joint preparation for the forum.
According to the head of the region, development of cooperation will allow to improve housing conditions in rural areas significantly. “The management of Centrosoyuz actively helps us to develop consumer cooperation. We want to provide rural residents of the region with good jobs and worthy salaries. We understand that consumer cooperation is also a huge production unit that can pay taxes. Now our cooperatives has become one of the most successful business units and many of them have purchased modern equipment. For example, last year we got almost 70 harvesters and tractors, which allowed to increase area under crops. As a result, we harvested approximately 1.7 million tons of grain. This was the first such harvest in the last 25 years! Thanks to cooperatives, in 2017 we created about eight thousand new jobs in the rural areas. So now we can face the future boldly. This forum will present dozens of new interesting projects, which will make lives of our fellow countrymen happier”, - the Governor Sergey Morozov said.
According to the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources of the Ulyanovsk region Mikhail Semyonkin, the forum's programme includes seven platforms, a plenary meeting, signing of several agreements, and an exhibition that will demonstrate achievements of regional cooperatives. “We expect that over 800 representatives of cooperation unions representing interests of 2.5 million shareholders will attend the event. We also hope to see many young people while the younger generation should be the main participants of such events”, - Mikhail Semyonkin emphasized.

By order of the Governor Sergey Morozov, a grant programme for support of small farms in villages was implemented in the Ulyanovsk region in 2009. The document aims to increase employment rate and income level of rural population, as well as to develop territories in general. The region also has the law for support of cooperation, which was adopted in 2016. In addition, the Government of the Ulyanovsk region, Centrosoyuz of the Russian Federation and the Regional Consumer Cooperative Society signed an agreement on cooperation in April 2017.
