Ulyanovsk region and Denmark to cooperate in the sphere of wind-power engineering and other sectors
This possibility was discussed on 11 April during the meeting between the Governor Sergey Morozov and Thomas Winkler, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to the Russian Federation.
Thomas Winkler has headed Danish business delegation, which came to the region to learn more about opportunities for implementation of investment projects in the Ulyanovsk region and to discuss cooperation with local enterprises. Many companies that arrived in the region are representatives of the wind-power industry.
“We have agreed with the Ambassador that the delegation of the Kingdom will participate in the International Investment Forum "Wind Power 2018", which will take place in the Ulyanovsk region in the middle of May. We have discussed our cooperation with Vestas in the sphere of localization of components production for wind generators. Other Danish companies successfully implement their projects in the region. For example, there is a Hempel plant on production of paints and varnishes, and a Skamol plant for production of heat-insulating materials from diatomite in Inzensky district. Now the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation is carrying out other negotiations with suppliers of components for the wind power industry, as well as with manufacturers working in the food industry”, – the head of the region reported.
The most promising areas of the partnership include wind-power engineering, the pharmaceutical industry, agriculture and the processing industry. Thomas Winkler have also highly praised prospects of the cooperation.
“The Ulyanovsk region and the Kingdom of Denmark are on good terms and have already developed cooperation. When I was here two and a half years ago, we opened a Hempel plant and agreed with the Governor that new Danish companies would come to the region. Last year, Vestas made the decision to place its production in Ulyanovsk, and today representatives of new companies, which specialize in production of components, have arrived in the region. I expect that future cooperation will be even more active, and new projects will come up after the visit”, – said the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to the Russian Federation.
Today the head of the region has also met up with another foreign guest: a Turkish company working in the sphere of mechanical engineering. In early April, the Head of the State visited the Republic of Turkey where he discussed the prospects for development of economic relations between the countries. Sergey Morozov has held negotiations with Turkish businessmen on implementation of a joint project in the Ulyanovsk region.
