Ulyanovsk business delegation has signed a number of export agreements on "zero day" of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2018
In the presence of the Governor Sergey Morozov, Simbirskoe Atelie (a company on production of confectionery) has signed several export contracts with large international distributors. This includes shipment of production to St. Petersburg and Finland.
“I am glad to see that recently there has been sustainable development of export in the region; more and more companies are interested in foreign markets, and sales geography is expanding. Now it already includes nearly 100 countries that want goods made by our manufacturers. For these purposes, the region has the Center for Support of Export at the Ulyanovsk Region Corporation for Enterprise Development. Thanks to comprehensive efforts, in comparison with the same period of last year, the level of export increased and made more than US$ 87 million in the first quarter of 2018. This indicator has surpassed the Russian average by more than by 20%”, - the Governor Sergey Morozov said.
According to Milana Privalova, the head of the confectionery factory, agreements will allow to expand sales geography and will have a positive impact on development of the whole business. "I opened a factory on production of elite chocolate in 2015. We started by making small amounts of goods, but now it is a full-fledged factory which employs 25 people. We were able to start export of our products thanks to assistance of the Ulyanovsk Region Corporation for Enterprise Development. Now goods made by our enterprise are shipped around the country through distributor networks and we also carry out deliveries to Kazakhstan and China. For us, the agreements signed today have opened new markets", - said a businesswoman.
In 2017, export has reached US$ 687.1 million; it increased by 61.63% in comparison with US$ 430 million received in 2016. Over ones hundred foreign countries have trade and economic relations with the Ulyanovsk region. Goods made in the region are exported to more than 85 countries. In 2017, main trade partners of the region were Egypt, Kazakhstan, Ireland, Belarus, Germany, Iran and others. The most common goods that were used for export are cars and automotive components, aircraft components, production of the woodworking industry, construction materials (bridge and road guardrails, heat-insulating materials, etc.), and radiopharmaceuticals.According to Ruslan Gaynetdinov, the Chairman of the Board of the Ulyanovsk Region Corporation for Enterprise Development, implementation of the Export Development Strategy will ensure further development of export and support of regional enterprises in presenting their production on foreign markets. It is planned to submit the document this summer. According to Ruslan Gaynetdinov, implementation of activities described in the Strategy will help to improve the level of primary industries' technological effectiveness and innovation, as well as to increase volumes of export of products for further processing and finished goods. It will also have a positive effect on export volumes of cars and automotive components, goods of the woodworking and furniture industry, equipment and products of instrument engineering, items of the food industry, and many others.
