Ulyanovsk region to improve conditions for development of industrial enterprises

The Governor Sergey Morozov and Ruslan Gaynetdinov, the Chairman of the Board of the Ulyanovsk Region Corporation for Enterprise Development, discussed the necessary measures of support during the meeting on 27 June.

“Currently we are actively working to develop industry; the sector shows stable results. Special attention shall be given to the index of industrial production of the Ulyanovsk region, which has reached 101.2% since the beginning of the year. In Russia, it stays at the same level of 101.8%. However, it is important to keep in mind that we need to create favorable conditions for new large enterprises to come to the region. For example, Harley Davidson, a well-known company that produces motorcycles and accessories for them, is looking for new places for localization, and we are ready to create comfortable conditions for such enterprises”, - Sergey Morozov said.

The head of the region has also noted that it is necessary to improve the state program "Creation of a Favorable Investment Climate in the Ulyanovsk Region 2014 - 2020", as well as to adopt a separate industry development programme. The new set of measures for stimulation of industrial production will include partial compensation if industrial enterprises participate in exhibition activities, procurement, and buyers’ tour. It is also planned to launch a new system for promotion of local production, which will be carried out through the leading Internet platforms.

"Foreign trade turnover of the Ulyanovsk region made more than US$ 170 million in January-April, 2018. In comparison with the same period of 2017, this indicator has increased by 40%. Export from the region has increased by 49.5% compared to 2017, and by 26% compared to the all-Russian level. It once again proves sustainable development of enterprises in the region", - Ruslan Gaynetdinov explained.
