Year 2019 can become the Year of Invention and Technological Innovations in the Ulyanovsk region

The regional VOIR organization and the Center for Cluster Development of the region have approached the head of the region Sergey Morozov with this initiative.

 

The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in the decree "About National Purposes and Strategic Problems of Development of the Russian Federation" has identified the result that Russia must achieve in the field of technological development by 2024.

“For us, innovations are becoming one of the main opportunities and resources to increase welfare of the Ulyanovsk region significantly. We are ready for world cooperation in development of technologies and human capital”, - the Governor Sergey Morozov said.

According to Vadim Pavlov, the Director General of the Center for Cluster Development of the Ulyanovsk region, acceleration of economy's growth rates in the region through development of the regional ecosystem of technology entrepreneurship should become one of the key objectives of the Year.

“The priority task, which it is necessary to focus on, is interaction between all participants of economy of the region to design and implement a plan of actions for the next five years to achieve accelerated innovative development of the Ulyanovsk region. The Key result is creation of conditions for the annual increase up to 10% of the total number of organizations that carry out technological innovations over the next five next years”, - said Vadim Pavlov, the Director General of the Center for Cluster Development of the Ulyanovsk region.

According to the experts of the relevant agency, within the Year of Invention and Technological Innovations it is planned to hold a number of international forums, federal events and meetings in the field of innovations, and to open representative offices of the National Association for Technology Transfer and Skolkovo Foundation in the Ulyanovsk region. In addition, it is planned to create in the region the Russia's first multipurpose center of inventive activity and to establish the Fund of Technological Development to finance innovative business projects.

The Ulyanovsk region became the winner of the competition "The Capital of Invention - 2019". During the ceremony on June 29, Grigory Ivliyev (the head of the Russian Federal Agency for Intellectual Property, Patents and Trademarks and the Chairman of the organizing committee of the competition) and Vladimir Kononov (the Vice-President of the All-Union Society of Inventors and Rationalizers) handed the certificate to the Governor Sergey Morozov. According to this document, the region received the Capital of Invention status.
