Investment potential of the Ulyanovsk region to be presented in the Czech Republic

The Prime Minister Alexander Smekalin will head the delegation of the region at the 60th International Machine Tools Exhibition in Brno.

During the visit the Prime Minister will meet Alexander Zmeevsky (Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Czech Republic), Marta Novakova (Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic), and Sergey Stupar (Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Czech Republic).

Alexander Smekalin will also participate in the Business-Day of Russia conference (“Biznes-den Rossii”) where he will present investment potential of the region and will hold a number of meetings with representatives of the Czech Republic business.

Currently the Ulyanovsk region is already actively cooperating with the Czech Republic, which includes the economic sphere. Trimill, a Czech machine-tool company, is implementing its project in the region; Gestego has constructed an enterprise for production of telescopic and cabinet protection for machines.

In addition, the head of the regional Government will present a report at the first meeting of the joint working group for coordination of trade and economic cooperation between the Ulyanovsk region and the Czech Republic. The agreement on its creation was signed in 2017 during the visit of the Czech delegation to the region. It was headed by Jiří Havlíček (Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic) and Vladimir Remek (Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Russian Federation).
