Wind power potential of the Ulyanovsk region has been presented at the International Forum WindEnergy 2018
The Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Sergey Morozov made a presentation at the global forum Wind Energy 2018 in Germany. He talked about economic potential and the wind power cluster of the region, as well as shared experience in creation of the Russia's first industrial wind farm.
“The Ulyanovsk region is one of the investment development leaders in Russia; there are the necessary conditions for localization of high technologies in the field of wind power engineering. Today return of investments is impossible without an effective and environmental friendly power economy. That is why we chose green power industry as one of the priority directions for economy of the Ulyanovsk region. We ensure a complex approach to its creation through establishment of wind farms, placement of components production, and formation of an ecosystem for scientific research and training”, – Sergey Morozov noted.
This year over 1,400 participants from 40 countries take part in the forum. The leading manufacturers and experts of the wind power industry will discuss further development of the RES market, improvement of the legislation in this field, cost-efficiency, introduction of innovations, and other topics.
The head of the region invited participants of the event to visit the International Forum on Renewable Energy ARWE 2019, which will take place in the Ulyanovsk region on 22-24 May 2019 with assistance of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Russian Federation and Russian Association of Wind Power Industry (RAWI).
"It is very important when someone becomes the first during development of any industry. They open any market, and it does not really matter whether it is a heavy industry or an electronic one; there is always someone to show that the market exists. In our country, the Ulyanovsk region and its Governor Sergey Ivanovich Morozov have become the first to do it. It attracted the first investors to the market and today they create here many different facilities including wind farms. There will be a highly efficient industrial cluster that will benefit the wind power industry. Thanks to the great legislative model and working capacity demonstrated by the Ulyanovsk region, this type of market is also created in other regions", – said Igor Bryzgunov, Chairman of RAWI.
Partners from Denmark have also highly appreciated prospects of cooperation with the Ulyanovsk region. Danish Wind Export Association and Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation signed a memorandum on cooperation at the forum. They will collaborate in the field of wind power industry development. The association will assist in search of the Danish companies interested in coming to the Russian market and placement of their production in the territory of the Ulyanovsk region.
