Governor Sergey Morozov has discussed prospects for cooperation with ambassadors of the Czech Republic and Slovakia

Yesterday, on 25 October, the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Sergey Morozov met with Vitezslav Pivonka, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Russia, and Peter Priputen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Russia. The event took place within the Governor's working trip to Moscow.


The Governor Sergey Morozov congratulated representatives of these two European countries on the 100th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia – the state that was peacefully divided 25 years ago after long joint activities. Today the Czech Republic and Slovakia are important partners in the sphere of international cooperation for our region and Russia in general.  

The head of the Ulyanovsk region and diplomats discussed the prospects for development of economic and humanitarian cooperation. In turn, Ambassadors of the European countries praised Sergey Morozov's initiatives, emphasized the importance of comprehensive relations development at the regional level, and accepted an invitation to visit the region, which is expected to take place in the nearest future.

The region has several important enterprises. Among them there is a Gestego plant (Czech Republic) for production of telescopic protection for machines; and TRIMILL, a Czech machine-tool company which cooperates with a number of Ulyanovsk region enterprises, in particular, with AO "Aviastar-SP" and the Ulyanovsk tool plant "FORSH" that uses TRIMILL processing centers. In addition, the region has established cooperation between ANO "Centre for Development of Nuclear Innovation Cluster of Dimitrovgrad, Ulyanovsk region" and the National Cluster Association of the Czech Republic (NCA). Nanoprogress together with the Czech cluster are implementing a joint Russian-Czech project for construction of a radiation biology and medical biotechnology laboratory in the Ulyanovsk region.

Currently there are active negotiations with a number of other Czech companies, as well as the ones with investors from Bratislava specializing in the field of machine-tool industry, lighting engineering and production of automotive components.
