Governor Sergey Morozov: "We are creating a national center of automotive industry"

A technological park in the sphere of high technologies will be established in the Ulyanovsk region. The memorandum of intent was signed on 8 November by the head of the region Sergey Morozov and Vadim Shvetsov, Director General of PAO "SOLLERS".

The technological park will help to create a unique environment for development of hi-tech companies and innovative projects and to train the new generation of highly skilled engineers.

"It will be a personnel and technology base for the machine-building industry of the region. We are creating a national center of automotive industry. Isuzu is implementing a project on assembly of trucks here. Construction of the new Isuzu Sollers plant will begin in the nearest future. Another very important point is that we are developing cooperation between small and medium innovative enterprises. Given that new residents will come here, we will be able to create new jobs. That is why we need to develop infrastructure in the whole Zasviyazhsky District and create conditions for comfortable living and working", – reported the head of the region Sergey Morozov.

A complex of specialized infrastructure services, which will be provided to resident companies, will help them develop and create hi-tech jobs. At the initial stage 480 experts will work in the technological park, and it is planned to increase their number up to 620 by the end of 2020. It is expected that in 10 years, the facility will bring about 300 million rubles to the regional budget. Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation will help with attraction of residents.

According to Vadim Shvetsov, Director General of OOO "UAZ", the project will become a new point of growth for the Ulyanovsk region. “Today we have all conditions to create a successful technological park. I refer to digitalization of production in UAZ research and development center, which is a major personnel and research base. The technological park will attract intelligent people and make the automotive industry even more hi-tech”, - Vadim Shvetsov said.

UAZ research and development center will act as the anchor resident. The technological park will bring together hi-tech companies such as PROF-IT Group, which works on complex automation of management in large enterprises. These include the machine-building industry, small and medium innovative businesses, and basic departments of higher education institutions.

“It is planned to launch the project until the end of this year; internal renovation of the building will be carried out in 2019 to place hi-tech companies. In the future, we are going to contact the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation to use the existing support measures. It will allow to attract 500 million rubles for development of the technological park within two years (from 2020 to 2021). This year the region has already asked for similar support with the project of the Dimitrovgrad industrial park "Master" and we will receive it in the nearest future”, – noted Sergey Vasin, CEO of the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation.
