Ulyanovsk region and Japan to cooperate in industrial production development

A memorandum on cooperation was signed today in Tokyo by the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Sergey Morozov and Akira Iwata, General Manager of Moscow Branch, Nomura Research Institute.


According to the head of the region, collaboration with the organization, which is Japan's largest private consulting firm, will attract new investors from Japan to the Ulyanovsk region and develop its industrial sector. This cooperation will also help to improve efficiency of technologies and workforce productivity, as well as to establish cooperation in the sphere of human development and innovations.

“We work with the leading Japanese research business centers. In particular, we are proud of our joint projects with Nomura Research Institute. Together with experts of the Institute, we are developing a legal service for support of Japanese business projects. Investors from Japan get comprehensive guidance regarding municipal, regional and federal legislation. Nomura Research Institute helps us establish automotive and hi-tech clusters to involve attract leaders of these industries to the Ulyanovsk region”, – Sergey Morozov noted.

Nomura Research Institute assists heads of many states in carrying out major reforms and developing regions, as well as participates in territorial planning and urban redevelopment. In addition, the Institute helps to develop business strategy for industrial companies.
