Valentina Matviyenko highly praised authorities of Ulyanovsk region for creation of the medical radiology center

A meeting between Sergey Ryabukhin, a member of the upper house of Parliament and the Chairman of the Federation Council, and the Governor Sergey Morozov took place in Moscow on 6 December.

During the conversation a number of important issues were discussed. Among the priority ones was construction of the High-Technology Center of Nuclear Medicine of FMBA.

"In total, about 25 billion rubles have been spent on implementation of this project. We will commission this facility in the first quarter of the next year. Patients from all over the country will be able to receive medical help here. It is necessary to invite experts, to provide them with housing, and to develop infrastructure. This issue will be among the key topics that we will discuss during Days of the Ulyanovsk region in the Federation Council. During this important meeting, we will also consider our work in the sphere of fair tariff setting and fight against the shadow economy. We are counting on the experts' help. Valentina Ivanovna supported our idea to hold in the Ulyanovsk region a meeting of two Governor's Councils that she supervises", - Sergey Morozov noted.

Residents of the Ulyanovsk region and other parts of the Russian Federation will receive services in this medical center, which is unique not only in Russia but also in the whole world. The project is implemented in the framework of the state programme for 2008-2012 “Creation of federal centers of nuclear medicine technologies” by the order of Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation. The establishment will be able to help twenty thousand patients a year.

Valentina Matviyenko noted the high social importance of this project implementation. “In his Address to the Federal Assembly the President stressed importance of the state programme for development of oncology services. It is very good that the Ulyanovsk region is going to introduce such a facility next year. However, in order to invite experts including the foreign ones, it is necessary to create the right conditions. It is very important to provide employees of the center with free housing without the right of privatization because today the expert will come and tomorrow they will leave. We need to make experts stay here, so that they could privatize their rent-free apartment only after working here for several years. Sergey Ivanovich, I know that you can complete the task you have set for yourself. Yesterday you reported on the important projects that had been implemented, and not only the region but also the federal authorities should know about them. It is very important for investors and for advance of the region. We are working on a resolution to help regions with the social and economic development. If there are any problems, we are trying to help each territory as much as possible. The government demonstrates a very responsible attitude to these documents, about 90-98% of which are completed depending on the set terms. Sergey Nikolaevich, you should also continue helping the region in the same way are you are doing it now”, - Valentina Matviyenko emphasized.

We would like to remind that 2.8 billion rubles were included into the federal budget to purchase housing for employees of the facility. According to the road map, it is planned to build 26 houses with 750 flats. Construction of five phases of the residential district "Akademgorodok" has been completed; here personnel of the Center of Nuclear Medicine will be able to acquire apartments on preferential terms. Two hundred and ninety six flats with the total area of about 14.2 thousand sq.m have already been commissioned. In 2019, it is planned to increase the number of available housing facilities.
