Famous Japanese athletes to visit Ulyanovsk region
They will make a speech at the International Festival "Japanese Spring on the Volga". This was announced after the meeting between the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region and representatives of the Nippon Budokan house of martial arts.
On 18-19 December, the head of the region Sergey Morozov went on a working trip to Japan where he participated in the XIV meeting of the Russia-Japan Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Issues.
“Japan is one of the Ulyanovsk region's key partners. Next year we are holding the third Japanese Spring on the Volga forum, which will become one of the main business events with an extensive cultural and sports programme”, – Sergey Morozov noted.
Japanese athletes are planning to attend Japanese Spring on the Volga forum and TAFISA World Martial Arts Festival. Olesya Kovalenko, a titled sumo wrestler, the nine-time world champion, the twenty-three-time champion of Europe who lives in Tokyo now, will become the first ambassador of the major international sports event in the coming year. Nippon Budokan, an organization that brings together the whole Japanese sports community, will support activities within the event. The best fighters will come to the Ulyanovsk region to represent Japanese national single combats (judo, aikido, karate, kyokushinkaikan, etc.). During the visit to the region, famous athletes will hold master classes and friendly meetings to talk with all fans of a healthy lifestyle and followers of the Japanese traditional philosophies.
In addition, Sergey Morozov met the government of the Fukuoka Prefecture. During the meeting, he, the Governor Hiroshi Ogawa and parliamentarians of one of the leading economic regions discussed main activities in the field of business cooperation, development of eco-cities and implementation of joint projects for young people. As part of the conversation in the Fukuoka Chamber of Commerce and Industry. the head of the region discussed development of trade and economic relations and business cooperation with the leading business organizations of the prefecture - management of the World Trade Center, Asian Business Center, Center for Support of International Business, Center for Development of Small and Medium Entrepreneurship and Innovative Sector, jetro and others. In the nearest future, it is planned to organize a business delegation and a forum for businesspeople from two regions. In addition, the first Russian-Japanese Youth Business Incubator with participation of young entrepreneurs from Ulyanovsk and the Fukuoka Prefecture will be organized in Ulyanovsk in May 2019. The event will take place under patronage of the Russian Union of Youth and the Youth Chamber of the National Diet and aims to strengthen cooperation between young businesspeople interested in implementation of their business ideas and projects in two counties.
Japan is the major strategic partner of the Ulyanovsk region and the leader in volumes of investment into creation of new productions in the region. In the nearest future, Japanese business will use more than 100 million dollars for this purpose. Thanks to it, new jobs will be created and budget revenues will be increased.
