Sergey Morozov reported to Dmitry Medvedev about implementation of investment projects in the Ulyanovsk region
The meeting with the Russian Prime Minister took place in Moscow.
According to the Governor Sergey Morozov, over the first nine months of 2018 investments into the fixed capital exceeded 40.1 billion rubles. Following the results of 2018, it is expected that this indicator will reach about 90 billion rubles. "This result is good since we performed well last year, too. Last year, we attracted 91.8 billion rubles of investments (126.7%) to the region", – the head of the region explained.
He also noted that the Ulyanovsk region implemented 10 investment projects in 2018 (including the second wind farm). Total investments into these projects made about 10.5 billion rubles, and 750 new jobs for were created for inhabitants of the region. In addition, 2018 saw beginning of construction at eight investment objects; this will allow to create over 1 thousand new jobs. The Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation currently supports implementation of 50 projects with the total investments of 47.5 billion rubles. According to Sergey Morozov, in the future it will create over 8 thousand new jobs for inhabitants of the region.
The head of the region also talked about the situation in the job market. According to the latest data, 23,328 jobs have been created in the Ulyanovsk region; 1,654 of them were generated by investment enterprises, and 14,767 - by small and medium businesses. These include 6,949 high-performance workplaces.
At the same time, the number of officially registered unemployed people has gradually decreased: from 3.5% as of 1 January 2005 up to 0.39% as of 1 January 2019. The Ulyanovsk region is one of the best in the country in this sphere. The level of general unemployment is also decreasing - from 7.7% in 2005 up to 3.5% in 2018.
