Anton Ishchenko emphasized importance of Ulyanovsk startups for the country

A meeting of the organizing committee of the Year of Invention and Innovations in the Ulyanovsk region took place in Moscow within the TechnoDay on 31 January.


“For our region, support of innovative spheres is a part of the carefully designed strategy. Now we continue moving forward to our main goal to turn the Ulyanovsk region into the full-fledged capital of smart technologies. I am sure that this year will become not just another stage, but a real breakthrough on our way to accelerated technological development”, – Sergey Morozov said.

Participants of the organizing committee discussed event programme for the thematic year. The official opening will be held at the Ulyanovsk State Technical University on 8 February. There is a plan for implementation of all initiatives, which includes more than 200 events. It is expected that about 20 thousand children and youth, over one thousand businesspeople and inventors will take part in these activities.

“The Ulyanovsk region has a lot of technology startups, which are very important for the country now and will be essential in the future. There are also businesspeople who are ready to invest in innovative projects and to scale them to other regions and abroad. We would like to invite everyone to the events within the Year of Invention and Innovations”, - said Anton Ishchenko, Chairman of the Central Council of All-Russian Society of Inventors and Rationalizers.

“The Ulyanovsk region has great scientific and technological potential and sets an example for development of the inventive movement in the country”, – added Vladimir Kononov, Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Vice President of VOIR, a member of the organizing committee.

The National Forum "Izobretateli Rossii" (Inventors of Russia) will become the main event of thematic year. This is the first event of this kind in Russia.

“We expect that the forum will become the country's main demonstration ground in the field of invention and innovations in 2019, which will be attended by more than one thousand people. We will be able to agree on joint activities to accelerate technological development of Russia”, - noted Vadim Pavlov, Adviser to the Governor on Digital and Technological Development.

During the meeting, Sergey Morozov came forward with an initiative to hold the All-Russian Year of Invention in 2020. Federal experts approved this idea.
