Red Route was among winners of National Rating of Tourism Brands 2018

The awards ceremony took place within the XIV International Tourism Exhibition "Inturmarket" in Moscow on 9 March.

“President Vladimir Putin regularly reminds us how important it is to develop tourism industry. The People's Republic of China honors traditions, preserves its history and respects 'red' routes. Residents of the Celestial Empire show great interest in the Red Route. We must tell as many potential tourists from the People's Republic of China as possible about the unique project and create the right infrastructure for a comfortable stay. The region traditionally holds the Week of Tourism in April, which also includes the International Tourism Forum-Exhibition "Rest on the Volga". Representatives of the Chinese professional community cooperate with the regional tourism industry. I am sure that this year the cooperation will be as successful as before”, - the Governor Sergey Morozov noted.

Red Route, a project of the Ulyanovsk region, took the second place in the Tourism and Ecological Routes nomination. IT Communications Centre "Rating" and Rest in Russia ("Otdyh v Rossii"), a magazine about domestic and inbound tourism, acted as organizers of the rating. The final list included 63 brands in 22 nominations with the consolidated annual revenues of more than 5.5 billion rubles.

Red Route is said to be one of the most promising projects in the sphere of tourist cooperation between Russia and the People's Republic of China. It is also important for development of interregional and international tourism. During the project's implementation since 2014, the region has been visited by about three thousand tourists as part of organized groups and about fifteen thousand independent ones from the People's Republic of China.

“Close cooperation with China is a promising area for development of the tourism industry. Inturmarket tourism exhibition, which includes VII Russian-Chinese Tourism Forum, pays particular attention to this sphere. The agreement was reached on cooperation with a number of online tourist projects in China to promote our product. Last year we signed an agreement with the Association of International Integration in Tourism "World without Borders", thanks to which tourists from China were able to visit our region within to the programme of visa-free exchange”, - noted Yulia Skoromolova, Director of the Agency for Tourism of the Ulyanovsk region.

During the extended meeting of the Committee on Economic Policy within Days of the Ulyanovsk region in the Federation Council, which took place on 12 February, Governor Sergey Morozov proposed to include Red Route in the list of priority routes, which are a part of the pilot project of state support for tour operators who provide the tourist flow. As a result of the meeting, Chairwoman of the Council of Federation Valentina Matviyenko signed the resolution according to which the Government of the Russian Federation would consider such possibility.
