Alexey Texler highly praised Ulyanovsk region's experience in wind industry development
The First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation announced this during the meeting of the ARWE-2019 Forum's program committee, which took place on 11 March in Moscow. The event was attended by Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Sergey Morozov, representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and energy companies, manufacturers of renewable energy equipment, Roscongress Foundation, and AO "Elektrifikaciya".
In his opening speech the First Deputy noted that Ulyanovsk region was selected as the venue for the event for a good reason: "The region is the leader in development of renewable energy sources. These are not only power capacities, which are annually expanded. The official opening ceremony for the Ulyanovsk wind-power station's second phase (50 megawatts) is scheduled to take place during the forum. It is planned to build six more wind farms with the total capacity of more than 200 MW in the coming years".
According to Texler, the region has a production of blades; this proves that there is a full production cycle. “We should encourage regions that are interested in development of renewable energy sources”, – he said.
Sergey Morozov noted that the region was planning to create a permanent expert platform for discussions in the renewables sphere.
“We intend to create a major competence center in the Ulyanovsk region, which will focus on all spheres connected with renewable energy sources. That is why we need experience and knowledge of global leaders in alternative power engineering. For us, it is very important to attract attention of the business community and other structures to tell them about all advantages and aspects of the alternative power engineering and the opportunities it provides for the country's economic development”, – Sergey Morozov said. According to the head of the region, more than 500 people have been invited to participate in the Forum. These include representatives of energy companies from Russia and the CIS, market regulators, investors, experts, analysts, and members of the media.
