New Il-76MD-90A military transport aircraft transferred for painting

Ulyanovsk Aviastar-SP production facility has transferred the new serial transport aircraft Il-76MD-90A (0202) for painting. Ulyanovsk Aviastar-SP production facility has transferred to painting new serial Il-76MD-90A under serial number 0202. The aircraft was built within the contract with the Ministry of Defense of Russian Federation.

 

In accordance with the schedule, experts have completed a full range of works on aircraft production, installation of systems, equipment, and modern avionics.

“This year Aviastar is planning to put into operation six transport aircraft. On 2 April, the plant transferred the first serial Il-76MD-90A to the customer; another one is at the final stage of development. Governor Sergey Morozov and the country’s authorities supervise the process. Commissioning of the assembly line will become an important step in successful implementation of the plan. However, the increase in production rate calls for new highly qualified personnel. The government of the region will take whatever steps are necessary to help with recruiting; this issue is under control”, - noted Andrey Tyurin, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Ulyanovsk region.

Painting of the aircraft is carried out at the specialized enterprise of AO "Spektr-Avia". Upon completion of the painting works, the aircraft will be transported to the production of the final assembly for the performance of bearer work and subsequent transfer to the flight test complex.

At the end of this stage, Il-76MD-90A it will be transferred to the customer.

Il-76MD-90A is an upgraded version of the well-known aircraft Il-76. It was originally developed by the Ilyushin Aviation Complex. The new integrated flight and navigation system, the automatic control system, the communications system and the “glass cabin” comply with all up-to-date aircraft avionics requirements and significantly increase the flight safety, navigation and cargo. Replacement of standard D-30KP2 engines with the cutting-edge PS-90A-76 ones, installation of a modified wing and a reinforced landing gear significantly improved the aircraft performance.
