Small innovative enterprise from Dimitrovgrad was included in the list of Rosatom's suppliers

Alexander Smekalin, Prime Minister of the Ulyanovsk region, announced this information at the XI International Forum ATOMEXPO 2019, which takes place in Sochi on 15-16 April.

The forum held by ROSATOM State Atomic Energy Corporation is the largest business and exhibition venue in the global nuclear industry. This year over 3600 guests from 74 countries registered for ATOMEXPO. The Ulyanovsk region is represented by participants of the nuclear and innovative cluster, which was established in 2010 at the initiative of the Governor Sergey Morozov. It includes both major city-forming industrial enterprises and new small innovative businesses.

“Today Ulyanovsk region's nuclear and innovative cluster is represented by 65 enterprises and scientific institutes working in the sphere of atomic and allied industries. Our aim is to successfully implement major anchor projects of the cluster and to create eco-environment for development of the related productions, laboratories, and innovative businesses. It is quite encouraging that Atomtekhservice, one of Dimitrovgrad enterprises and a startup developed in our nuclear and innovative cluster, became a guaranteeing supplier of hi-tech products under contracts with ROSATOM State Corporation. It means that technologies and products made by the company, such as radiation-absorbent materials, are of the highest quality”, – said Alexander Smekalin, Prime Minister of the region.

OOO "Atomtekhservice" carried out research and development in the field of natural and technical sciences, as well as performs technical tests, research, analysis and certification in medical radiology. Negotiations are currently under way regarding participation of the company in the technological chain for Rosatom reactor facilities both in Russia and abroad.

“The enterprise started developing under auspices of the nuclear and innovative cluster in 2014; today it is already cooperating with the major members of the nuclear sector such as Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation – A. I. Leypunsky Institute for Physics and Power Engineering. The enterprise manufactures various high-density ceramics using non-metallic powders; these products have microstructure homogeneity with high mechanical characteristics and can be used in control systems for protection of fast-neutron reactors. Prototypes of products made from absorbing materials have been completed. The mass production is to start after testing”, - explained Albert Gataullin, Director of the Dimitrovgrad Nuclear Cluster Development Center.

It should be noted that the initial design of absorbing materials was created within the megaproject under Resolution 218 of the Government of the Russian Federation and in cooperation with AO "SSC RIAR" and Ulyanovsk State University, which are part of the Ulyanovsk region's nuclear and innovative cluster.

In addition, during the forum participants of the nuclear and innovative cluster OOO "NPF Sosny" and the main higher education institution of the region (Ulyanovsk State University) with assistance of ANO "Dimitrovgrad Nuclear Cluster Development Center" presented a joint project called Robotic System with Human-Machine Interface for Radiation Tolerant Cameras.
