Sergey Morozov and Evgeny Mironov discussed development prospects of Ulyanovsk Motor Plant

The meeting took place on 8 May. Evgeny Mironov was appointed as Executive Director of the plant on 6 May.


“Work completed by Managing Director of the Ulyanovsk Motor Plant is of paramount importance for the enterprise. Thanks to the development programme and Nikolay Ezhov's personal qualities, we were able to address all issues and to preserve our highly professional team. Now we can be proud of our new products and achievements. GAZ Group is one of the best in terms of control systems and management. I hope that in this difficult for the automotive industry time we together with Evgeny Mironov, the new head of the plant, will continue developing the enterprise and will return it to its former glory of the Soviet days”, - the head of the region noted.

About 45 thousand automobile engines were manufactured at the Ulyanovsk Motor Plant in 2018. This has exceeded indicator of 2017 by 19%; the volume of locally produced and shipped goods increased by 22%.

“One can also see increase in production following the results of the first quarter of 2019. Over this period, we made by 2.6% more goods in comparison with the same period of last year. The plant's staff is stable, as well as its support measures. We provide all social benefits, meal allowance, and children's education in pre-school establishment. All support measures will be available in 2019 and 2020”, - said Nikolay Ezhov, former Managing Director of AO "Ulyanovsk Motor Plant".

Ulyanovsk Motor Plant (UMZ) is in the ‘Light commercial vehicles and passenger cars’ division of the leading Russian automobile complex ‘GAZ Group’. The enterprise has a full production cycle for development and manufacturing of automobile engines. The plant makes automobile petrol and gas-gasoline engines for GAZelle and Sobol cars. Evotech engines, which comply with European emission standards Euro4 and Euro5, make 85% of the overall output.

“Today more than 1200 people work at the Ulyanovsk Motor Plant. That is why it is so important to preserve each workplace. Next, many projects, which are being implemented now, are at various phases of completion, so it is necessary to finish them in due time. In the future, the enterprise can expect new successful projects that will have a positive impact on the output and tax contributions to the regional budget”, - Evgeny Mironov added.
