Aviastar-SP transfers second Il-76MD-90A to the customer

On 15 May, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation received yet another Il-76MD-90A heavy transport aircraft with the serial number 0110.

“Manufacturing activity at the Aviastar-SP plant are carried out in accordance with the plan and tasks set by the country's leadership. A little more than a month ago the first IL-76MD-90A transport aircraft with the serial number 0109 was transferred to the customer at the Ulyanovsk Vostochny International Airport (Ulyanovsk East Airport). It was constructed in compliance with the task list of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. I would like to remind that we continue to address the issue of training and recruitment of highly qualified personnel. This problem should be solved as quickly as possible because we are planning to increase the output: this year the plant is going to launch a continuous assembly line”, - the Governor Sergey Morozov noted.

The certificate of acceptance for the new aircraft was signed by Vadim Dyrdin, the commander of the military unit, Vladimir Semenov, Managing Director of AO "UAC-TS", and Vasily Dontsov, Managing Director of AO "Aviastar-SP".

In total, the enterprise is planning to build and transfer five top-of-the-line aircraft in 2019. They will improve capabilities of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

AO "Aviastar-SP" takes part in several aviation programmes simultaneously, which includes MS-21, An-124, and Tu-204 ones. The increase in production will require 1.5 thousand more employees in 2019-2020.

As a reference:

Il-76MD-90A is an upgraded version of the well-known aircraft Il-76. It was developed by PJSC "Ilyushin Aviation Complex". The new integrated flight and navigation system, the automatic control system, the communication complex and the “glass cabin” comply with all up-to-date aircraft avionics requirements and significantly increase the flight safety, navigation and cargo. Replacement of standard D-30KP2 engines with the cutting-edge PS-90A-76 ones, as well as installation of a modified wing and a reinforced landing gear, significantly improved the aircraft performance.
