ARWE 2019 International Forum on Renewable Energy starts in Ulyanovsk region

The event will take place from 22 to 24 May at Ulyanovsk Center for Technology Transfer (ULNANOTECH).

The Forum is organized by AO “Elektrifikatsia” and RAWI (Russian Association of Wind Power Industry) with assistance of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Roscongress Foundation and ULNANOTECH Ulyanovsk Nanocenter. Over 350 delegates – representatives of Russian and foreign energy companies, market regulators, investors, analysts, and experts from 11 countries – will participate in the event.

The forum will start with the plenary session "Prospects of Renewable Energy Sources in Russia", which will feature Governor Sergey Morozov as a speaker.

“ARWE focuses on green energy and has no analogues in our country. ARWE 2019 will be the largest RES event in Russia and neighboring countries. The Ulyanovsk region is the main territory for development of the newest renewable energy sector throughout Russia; from training of specialists to production of equipment for wind farms. We see alternative power engineering as a powerful incentive for economic development. That is why it is so important for us to exchange best practices with the leading experts working in this sphere”, - Sergey Morozov emphasized.

During sessions and round tables, participants of the event will discuss future of renewable energy sources and implementation of the programme for renewable energy equipment localization in Russia, RES investment project financing and pitfalls of wind farm construction, efficiency of solar technologies, potential of the green energy engineering, and other topics. The Gold Wind award ceremony will take place on the first day of the forum.

A panel discussion "Ratification of the Paris Agreement in Russia: Potential Impact on RES Sector Development" will be held on 22 May. The event will be attended by representatives of the Renewable Energy Development Association (RREDA), HSE Institute of Energy, Greenpeace Russia, ANO "International Center for Sustainable Energy Development" under the auspices of UNESCO (ISEDC), and the Embassy of Germany in Moscow.

The forum will also feature an exhibition of new technologies in production of solar modules, construction and maintenance of wind farms, logistics services for enterprises of petrochemical and power industries. During the exhibition, representatives of companies will provide consultations on the use of solar panels and mobile wind power generators in households. Free buses will be available every 30 minutes (from Hilton Garden Inn and Ibis to the exhibition).

The three-day ARWE 2019 forum will conclude with a youth programme with participation of students from regional universities. A meeting with inventors of the first Russian solar car, lectures of the leading world experts, and an exhibition of electric vehicles will take place on the Youth Day (24 May). It is also planned to hold a "casual style" meeting with Governor Sergey Morozov, during which young people will be able to ask the head of the region about support of science and inventions in the region.
