Week of the national project “Ecology” starts in Ulyanovsk region

It is planned to carry our daily inspections of facilities that were included in the plan for implementation of the national project approved by Vladimir Putin.

 

The region takes part in such projects as Integrated System for Municipal Waste Management, Improvement of the Volga River, Clean Water, Preservation of Unique Water Objects, Conservation of Biological Diversity, and Forests Preservation. Participation of the region in the Clean Country programme is  under consideration now.

According to Dmitry Fyodorov, Minister of Nature and Circular Economy, by participating in events of the federal projects within the national Project “Ecology, the Ulyanovsk region will be able to address its long-term environmental issues and to guarantee all citizens their right for favorable environment.

It is planned to carry out press tours to facilities included in the national project, thematic round table discussions, and seminars with participation of representatives of government agencies, members of the public, and federal experts.

Each day of the week will focus on specific spheres of the national project. The main event will include the Ecological Message of the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region, which Sergey Morozov will present on 28 June.

For example, on Monday there will be an inspection of water objects in Melekessky and Karsunsky districts.

Tuesday will focus on the Integrated System for Municipal Waste Management project. It is planned to visit of a waste sorting facility of the regional 1-zone operator and to carry out a round table discussion about the Clean Reform in the Ulyanovsk region. The campaign "Dobraya kryshechka" will also start on the same day and will involve gathering plastic items in summer camps.

The round table discussion regarding conservation of biological diversity of the Ulyanovsk region will take place on Wednesday. Meetings of Ecological Councils of municipal units will also take place. The main subject will be carrying for animals and plants.

On Thursday areas of focus will include implementation of the Forests Preservation regional project. It is planned to visit Mainsky District to examine the I-type fire-chemical station "Maina", forest nurseries, and sites where trees will be planted in 2019. In addition, 19 forest nurseries in municipal units of the region will have Open Days.

On 28 June, a cooperation agreement on implementation of the national project "Ecology" will be signed between the regional Government and Russian Ecology Society, a public organization for protection of natural resources.
