On 26 June, Anatoly Serdyukov (Aviation Cluster Industrial Director of the Rostec State Corporation, Chairman of the Board of United Aircraft Corporation), Yury Slyusar (President of UAC) and Andrey Tyurin (First Deputy Prime Minister of the Ulyanovsk region) visited Ulyanovsk aircraft factory where they discussed plans for development of the enterprise.
Accompanied by Yury Grudinin (Director General of PAO "Il") and Vasily Dontsov (Managing Director of AO “Aviastar-SP”), members of the delegation examined progress in implementation of the main aircraft programmes, modernization of production capacities and launch of the new automated assembly line for military transport aircraft. They also discussed the plant's utilization rate and increase in production volumes within expansion of mass production of IL-76MD-90A heavy military transport aircraft.
According to Andrey Tyurin, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Ulyanovsk region, the enterprise is planning to make five Il-76MD-90A aircraft this year; work is being carried out in accordance with the plan. Currently the third aircraft is undergoing flight tests within the production programme for 2019. Two new planes with this modification have been commissioned to the military transport aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
The first domestic fuel tanker Il-78M-90A continues flight tests; upgrade of the heavy military transport aircraft An-124-100 Ruslan is carried out. At the same time, the enterprise participates in cooperation within several UAK civil programmes.
Due to the increase in production volumes, the plant needs to employ about 1500 workers to guarantee mass production. Governor Sergey Morozov personally controls training of personnel. Today students receive necessary knowledge and skills at the Interregional Center of Competences, which was also visited by the delegation.
