Ulyanovsk Region to Present Exhibition of Aviation Achievements at МАКS-2019

The International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS will be held at Ramenskoe Airfield in Zhukovsky from 27 August to 1 September. It is planned that Governor Sergei Morozov will head the regional delegation.

“Ulyanovsk remains the aviation capital; we are still the main region in production of civil aircraft. We are developing new spheres. In particular, production of new materials - composites. The city also has a great education center in the field of aircraft engineering,” - the head of the region noted.

A number of major meetings and negotiations will be held during the air show.

"We have prepared meetings with new companies, in particular manufacturers of composite materials. Sergey Morozov will hold negotiations with them during the forum. We expect that they will become residents of PSEZ "Ulyanovsk," the only special economic zone of airport type in Russia. The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation deemed the site effective based on the results of the study of existing special economic zones in 2018. It already has 10 residents and expects arrival of another company related to the production of unmanned aerial vehicles and composite materials for the aviation industry,"- said Sergey Vasin, Head of the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation.

MAX will hold negotiations regarding major scientific and production project (investments will make about one billion rubles).

As part of the business programme, the head of the region will make a presentation at the international conference "German technologies, equipment and materials in the field of civil aviation."

The regional pavilion will be included in the programme for the first time in the history of the air show. Its participants will be Russian regions with the highest concentration of aircraft building enterprises: Samara and Ulyanovsk regions, the Republic of Tatarstan, and Perm Krai.

A total of 182 international companies from 28 countries (including Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, China, Romania, France, and the Czech Republic), as well as 635 Russian companies, have been registered as participants in the event.

Ulyanovsk region's exhibition will present 15 enterprises. The stand will feature AO "Aviastar-SP", AO "Ulyanovsk Instrument Manufacturing Design Bureau", AO "Spectrum-Avia", AO "AeroComposit-Ulyanovsk", OOO "Zavod Signal", residents of the port special economic zone "Ulyanovsk," and main universities of the region. The exposition will touch on the subjects of production, investment, science, and education.

The new Russian midrange narrow-body aircraft MC-21will be presented at the static display and will take part in demonstration flights. Ulyanovsk aircraft manufacturers make more than 50% of components for the new vehicle. AO "Aviastar-SP" is the main enterprise for production of МС-21. AO "AeroComposit-Ulyanovsk" makes a unique "black wing" for the aircraft using polymer composite materials: power components of consoles for composite wings, upper and lower panels of the center wing, as well as final assembly of the center wing and outer wings.
