Transport Hub to Be Created in Ulyanovsk Region's Technopark "Technocampus 2.0"

Governor Sergey Morozov and Alexey Isaikin, Chairman of the Board of Volga-Dnepr Airlines, signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation at the International Aviation and Space Salon МАКS 2019 on 28 August.


“Development of the aviation cluster remains our top priority, as it is one of the key growth points for the Ulyanovsk region's economy. I am sure that we will be able to bring this work to the new level with the help of Volga-Dnepr. Together we will implement the priority project "Technology Valley". The company is planning to sign a contract to rent space in the technopark "Technocampus 2.0" for active participation in establishment of the transport hub. Volga-Dnepr will become the key resident of Technocampus. We are going to carry out joint research concerning future transport development and other spheres,” - Sergey Morozov said.

According to the memorandum, the parties will cooperate in four areas: education, transport of the future, design and production of innovative haulage systems with the use of advanced technologies, e-health and predictive medicine.

“For us, Ulyanovsk is not just an actively developing city; it is the city where our airline was established 29 years ago. It is a unique cluster to create a science and technology ecosystem, which will bring together professionals from many industries, set a vector for further development of the region, and attract additional investment,” - Alexey Isaikin commented.

During the event, Vadim Pavlov (Director General of the managing company "Technocampus", Digital and Technology Development Advisor to the Governor) and Igor Aksyonov (Director General of Volga-Dnepr Airlines) signed an agreement on intentions to form a scientific center at Technocampus 2.0 in Zavolzhye Industrial Zone.

Construction of the technology park will be carried out within implementation of the national project "Small and Medium-Sized Businesses and Support for Individual Entrepreneurs". Technocampus 2.0 has a unique layout of specialized research, laboratory, education, and production units and public areas.

According to Vadim Pavlov, participation in the Volga-Dnepr project will attract resources and world-class expert support for projects in the field of transport of the future.

“The technology park "Technocampus 2.0" is designed as a constantly developing complex with research, education, and production companies working in the field of high technologies,” - Vladimir Pavlov explained.
