Sergey Morozov Discusses Plans to Organize a Business Mission for German Enterprises in 2020
During the meeting with heads of the German-Russian Economic Union, the head of the region discussed the possibility for German businesses to get acquainted with the region.
“I am sure that together with entrepreneurs from Hamburg we will find many areas for mutually beneficial cooperation. I am sure that you will be able to implement your business plans and that we will become reliable business partners. Ten major investment projects created in Germany have been implemented in our region. German companies have created about 2,000 high-quality jobs and have built five large plants. Some of them have no analogues not only in Russia, but also in Eastern Europe,”- said Sergey Morozov welcoming German colleagues.
Sergey Vasin, Head of the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation, made a presentation for German business people about investment opportunities in the region. The list of companies includes representatives of aviation, construction and automotive industries, as well as ones working in the field of alternative energy. Hanno Stöcker, Director General of the German-Russian Economic Union, invited the head of the region to participate in the Day of Medium-Sized Businesses in Hamburg, which will take place in 2020.
In addition, during a business trip to Germany Sergey Morozov discussed prospects of cooperation with heads of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (one of the oldest and largest in Germany). The Chamber represents interests of more than 160,000 companies. Representatives of CCI expressed interest in establishing contacts and developing cooperation with Russian regions.
“We have also negotiated with a major machine-building company in Germany. It is currently analyzing the Russian market to identify regions where it could start working. That is why it was the best time for our meeting. Then the investor will make a decision regarding localization,”- said Sergey Vasin, Director General of Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation.
In addition, a meeting was held with the Mattias Shepp, Chairman of the Board of the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce. During this event, he mentioned importance of such visits for development of mutually beneficial cooperation. “German businesses find it comfortable to work in Ulyanovsk because it has all conditions necessary for effective co-operation,” - said Mr. Shepp.
“Today we have built a productive dialogue with Government of Hamburg. While speaking with the burgomaster Mr. Peter Tschentscher and Torsten Sevecke, State Secretary of the Ministry for Economy, Transport, and Innovation of Hamburg, the Governor discussed possible spheres of cooperation for business people of our regions. We told our colleagues about all benefits and privileges that foreign investors can receive here,” - commented Ekaterina Smoroda, Minister for Development of International and Interregional Relations of the Ulyanovsk Region. The meeting also included such topics as development of interregional collaboration, cooperation in the field of industry and transport, as well as business and cultural tourism.
