On 17 September, the head of the region Sergey Morozov held the sixth meeting of the Governor's Investment Council. Before that, he visited a plant of Bridgestone Corporation that will soon start implementation of the project to create a logistics center.

“We support Bridgestone's initiative to increase the output. Our partners will start implementation of a new investment project in the first half of 2020 to build of a regional logistics complex for the storage and distribution of tires. This will create more than 100 new jobs; investments will amount to about 15 million euros. I would like to thank management of the company for the new projects that it is implementing in the region. The output growth will create new jobs for residents of the region and increase tax payments,” - Governor Sergey Morozov said.

The logistics center will be built in the industrial park "Zavolzhye" in the territories adjacent to the plant.

“Implementation of the new project will provide a more efficient and flexible approach to supply of tires to both the retail network and our partners. It will also create new jobs," - said Jeffrey Glover, Director General of Bridgestone Tire Manufacturing CIS.

The company intends to complete construction and put the center into operation in 2021.

In addition, results of the annual hospitality rating "secret investor" were summed up at the meeting of the Investment Council. On behalf of potential investors, trained specialists and experts asked municipal administrations, executive authorities, and development institutions of the Ulyanovsk region for assistance in receiving state support during implementation of the project. The study helped to identify the real level of investment hospitality in the Ulyanovsk region, as well as to evaluate the quality of remote interactions with potential partners.

Staromainsky, Radishchevsky, Inzensky, Novospassky, and Bazarnosyzgansky districts demonstrated good results among municipalities. Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation, Special Economic Zone "Ulyanovsk", Agency for Rural Development, Entrepreneurship Development Corporation, and Center for Public-Private Partnership Development of the Ulyanovsk Region was the best among relevant institutions.

According to results of the study, it is necessary to improve the quality of remote interactions with potential investors.

“The list of measures that will be implemented to solve this task includes preparation of methodological recommendations and voice modules for communication with investors. It is also planned to send specialists to the development corporation and other institutions so that they could receive necessary training. We are mainly talking about people who are the first to answer phone calls, letters, or electronic applications sent by companies. This training has been carried out before, but it is necessary to continue doing it due to the movement of employees and continuous influx of new people,”- said the head of the Development Corporation of the region Sergey Vasin.
