Ulyanovsk Region to Get Wildberries Certification and Sorting Centers

The agreement was reached at the meeting between Governor Sergey Morozov and Tatyana Bakalchuk, Head and Founder of the electronic trading platform.

The head of the region noted: “Currently, we are creating a special business atmosphere, as well as carrying out our own policy related to the creation of special conditions for e-commerce within the national project "SMEs and Support for Individual Entrepreneurial Initiative". I want to note that today a number of large Russian companies have created their offices and call centers in the region. Cooperation with Wildberries will provide Ulyanovsk entrepreneurs with additional opportunities for trade and development. They will receive new orders and, in turn, will be able to expand their production; new jobs will be created.”

According to Ruslan Gainetdinov, Chairman of the Board of Ulyanovsk Region Entrepreneurship Development Corporation, twenty-seven Ulyanovsk companies (mainly consumer goods manufacturers) are already working on the trading platform.

“In two years, the volume of sales has increased by several hundred million rubles. This is a great market outlet because traders will have access to the whole world through it. That is why we are creating special conditions and a package of initiatives to implement the tool in our Trade Development Center. It will allow entrepreneurs to complete the certification procedure, digitization and audit in "one click" and then quickly get to the virtual marketplace. In addition, the sorting center, which will be first of its kind in Ulyanovsk and then in Dimitrovgrad, will increase the concentration of local goods at this platform. And companies will be able to receive resources and sales as fast as possible,” - the Head of the Corporation explained.

During the meeting the parties agreed to hold a Wildberries Day - a training programme for entrepreneurs that will show them how to use e-commerce platforms. The event will be held within the Business Climate in Russia Forum, which will be held in Ulyanovsk on 5-6 December, 2019.

Since July 2018, regional goods have been sold at the largest trading e-platform Alibaba.com. The showcase "Made in Ulyanovsk" there has received more than 53 thousand views per month. To reach customers from the CIS countries, an electronic showcase with Ulyanovsk products has been created at the Allbiz.ru platform. To date, more than 1000 products of 25 companies from the Ulyanovsk region are available at these websites. Every month they receive more than 70 applications from such countries as India, Egypt, Pakistan, Algeria, Israel, Nigeria, Vietnam, China, Palestine, USA, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Belarus, Iran, and Turkey. In the future, these platforms will become one of the main promotion tools for all regional exporters.
