Water Treatment Plant with Technologies of Military-Industrial Complex to Be Built in Novaya Maina
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin instructed to use new technologies of water treatment during the live TV call-in on 20 June 2019.
The head of State noted, “In general, I would like to tell governors that it is necessary to join the programmes that are currently being implemented in the Russian Federation. However, it is important to use modern water treatment methods. We have large enterprises including those working in the field of military-industrial complex. One of our leading enterprises is Moscow Institute of Thermal Technology.”
Moscow Institute of Thermal Technology (MITT) is a manufacturer of ozonation plants included in the Reference Document on Best Available Techniques approved by the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation. Thanks to the increased oxidizing properties of ozone, these plants allow to perform pre-oxidation of feedwater for further purification during the next water treatment stages.
We would like to remind that modernization of the system is carried out within instructions given by Governor Sergei Morozov to provide the population with a high quality and continuous water supply.
Reconstruction of the water supply system in Novaya Maina, Melekesky District, will be carried out under the federal project "Clean Water" of the national project "Ecology". According to Alexander Cherepan, Minister of Energy, Public Utilities and Urban Environment of the Ulyanovsk region, applications have already been submitted within the competition on design documentation that will be used during reconstruction of this facility.Modernization of the water supply system, which involves construction of the water treatment plant, new water wells, as well as renovation of water supply networks, will improve the quality of drinking water for 5.5 thousand residents of Novaya Maina. Within the second stage of reconstruction, it is planned to build a water pipeline from Novaya Maina to the villages in Sabakayevo and Lebyazhye, Melekessky District. The regional budget for 2020 includes money for design of this water pipeline, which was approved on 20 November by deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Ulyanovsk region.
