Ulyanovsk Regional Museum of Local Lore and administration of the Radishchevsky District are organizers of the event dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in 1941−1945 Great Patriotic War and the 236th anniversary of Denis Davydov's birth.

“All-Russian Davydov's Readings will become the starting point of interregional cultural and historical marathon, during which we will hold competitions among schoolchildren, students, and cadets of military schools about our wonderful compatriots who share the same surname with Davydov. This initiative is an important component in implementation of the national project "Culture" approved by President Vladimir Putin. The Interregional Davydov Festival, which will take place in Radishevsky District on 18 July, will be the final event. On this day residents and guests of the region will be able to watch or to participate in Davydov's Gathering, various quests, military sports games, and historical re-enactments of battles from 1812 and 1943, - said Evgenia Sidorova, Minister of Art and Cultural Policy of Ulyanovsk Region. - The marathon is dedicated to Denis Davydov himself, his relatives (participants of the War of 1812), their descendants, and people bearing the same family name who bravely defended freedom of the Motherland in the Great Patriotic War and contribute significantly to the development of Russia now.”

The partners include Ulyanovsk State Pedagogical University, the Ulyanovsk branch of the Russian Military Historical Society (RMHS), the Borodino State Military and Historical Museum, and military-historical clubs from the regions.
