Ulyanovsk Vestas Plant to Export First Batch of Blades for Wind Turbines

The official ceremony of goods shipment abroad will take place at 11.00 on 27 March.


Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event will be held via videoconference. Online broadcast will be available on ROSNANO website and on the company's official page in VKontakte and Facebook.

The event will be attended by Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region Sergey Morozov, Yuri Borisov (Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation), Mikhail Ivanov (Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation), Yuri Manevich (Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation), Anatoly Chubais (Chairman of the Board of OJSC “ROSNANO”) and KimalYusupov (Director General of OOO "Vestas Manufacturing Rus").

It is also planned to announce plans for development of the blades production in Ulyanovsk, opportunities for further localization of wind-power engineering equipment and expectations for the Federal Programme of Wind Power Industry Support.

As a reference:

OOO "Vestas Manufacturing Rus" opened in the region in December 2018. The plant makes composite blades for 3.4 to 4.2 MW wind turbines; these items have no analogues in the Russian Federation. The production site is located in the aviation cluster in Ulyanovsk.

Among partners of the project is Vestas, ROSNANO and the Consortium of Investors of the Ulyanovsk Region, which includes the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation and the Ulyanovsk Nanocentre (ULNANOTECH). Investments in the project totaled more than 2 billion rubles. The high-tech enterprise has created more than 400 jobs.
