Ulyanovsk Drama Theatre named after I. A. Goncharov Receives Governor's Prize for Promotion of Performing Arts
On the International Day of Theatre, Governor Sergey Morozov gave prizes for promotion of theatre to performance groups of the region.
The head of the region congratulated theatre workers on their professional holiday and stressed that culture and the arts are a strategically important sphere of life in the Ulyanovsk region, while theatre activities are the most important vector of the regional cultural scene.
Sergey Morozov noted, “In the Year of Theatre, more than a thousand performances of regional, Russian and foreign theatres were presented to the Ulyanovsk audience; they were visited by about 300 thousand citizens. Regional theatres have completed many projects and successfully showed their creativity not only in Russian cities but also all over the world. We have started implementation of a unique project - "ZemskiyTeatr". Now we have a new task: use online services to attract viewers. This will create an opportunity to watch performances both at home and in social institutions, which means that we will be able to introduce to art as many residents as possible.”
In 2020, Ulyanovsk Drama Theatre named after I.A. Goncharov received the Governor's prize "Prodvizhenie" (Promotion) for promotion of performance arts in the region.
“This prize is an integral part of the theatres festival "Licedey", which has been presenting achievements of dramatic arts in the region for 14 years and is a landmark cultural event dedicated to the International Day of Theatre. Over the years, Licedey has become a calling card of the region, a project that attracts to the theatre viewers of all ages, supports various forms of performance arts, and discovers new talents. It is especially important to receive recognition in the nomination "Prodvizhenie" as our theatre pays particular attention to development of dramatic arts in the region. We have many projects and plans ahead,” - said Natalia Nikonorova, Director of the Ulyanovsk Drama Theatre named after I.A.
