Ulyanovsk Region to Implement Programme for Development of Light Industry Enterprises

The project is to take place under the patronage of Governor Sergey Morozov and with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

Sergey Morozov said, “The regional Association of Light Industry and Design Professionals was established in the region two years ago. It now includes about 70 clothing manufacturers. We are launching a programme that will help the region develop both creative and light industries. Six enterprises that will pass the preliminary round will create a model of the working process with participation of experts, as well as organize and redesign activities within their companies. As a result, owners and employees will learn how to create a popular and modern product for the new market. The outcome of this work will be presented in September.”

The programme is organized by the BE IN OPEN Institute with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. Partners include the Government of the Ulyanovsk Region, the regional Association of Light Industry and Design Professionals, the Foundation “Ulyanovsk – the Capital of Culture” and the Ulyanovsk Region Entrepreneurship Development Corporation.

The programme will have two stages. An anti-crisis online conference for fashion and light industries will be held on 22-25 April; it will include workshops, online consultations, exhibitions and business communication. The key topics are "Figures of crisis. All data on the light and fashion industry", "Forecast: how consumer demands will change after the quarantine", "PR strategy during and after the economic crisis", "What happens to factories and sewing shops. Business cases". To register for the conference, please visit https://beinopen.institute/conference_online.

The second stage involves brand acceleration. It will help local businesses adapt to realities of the current market so as to survive the crisis and to continue growing after it.

Pre-qualified Ulyanovsk production facilities are encouraged to participate in the programme. According to the organizers, it will involve leading designers, specialists in brand management, marketing and promotion, as well as creative professionals. The teams will develop anti-crisis strategies and designs of commercially viable products and then launch production of special collections created under the brand.

“Participation in this programme is an excellent opportunity for Ulyanovsk brands to reorganize their work and manufacture recognizable and in-demand products. This project was supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade; this proves its relevance, especially considering the current situation in the country and the world. Today it is more necessary than ever to think about transformation; entrepreneurs must set new objectives, look for their place on the market and keep it, as well as develop partnerships to create new competitive goods,” - said Tatyana Ivshina, Director of the Foundation "Ulyanovsk – the Capital of Culture".

Ulyanovsk enterprises can participate in the programme by sending an application to http://beinopen.institute/accelerator.

The region will host III Ulyanovsk Fashion Week from 22 to 26 April. This year, this event will take place online. Its programme and all relevant information are available at https://www.ulfashionweek.com/.
