Ulyanovsk Region to Implement More Than 20 Investment Projects and Create about 500 New Jobs in Hospitality Industry

Overall investment into the projects on construction of new hotels and recreation facilities in the region and development of the existing ones will total more than 2 billion rubles.



Governor Sergey Morozov said, “These days, we are regularly holding meetings with various businesses, and together we discuss future development during the coronavirus pandemic. Despite the current situation, we can see that our entrepreneurs do not stop developing, introducing new projects and expanding the existing ones. The hotel industry is among the most affected ones, so our task is to support it. To date, there are such support measures as a grace period, debt refinancing and restructuring, preferential financial products. We are developing a comprehensive set of measures to reduce the tax burden. It is important that these investment projects will create about 500 new jobs for residents of the region.”

The projects include opening of Ulyanovsk Congress Hotel; construction of the second stage of an agrotourism farm "Svoya ferma", a hotel complex in Karsun, the second stage of the tourist camp "Razgulyaevo" in Krasny Yar, the second stage of a spa complex "Usadba"; reconstruction of a camp site "Iskra"; commissioning of a four-star hotel "Mirazh"; and development of a glamping  "Holmy" in the national park "Sengileyevskiye gory".

Last year, funds were allocated from the budget of the Ulyanovsk region as one of the winners of the competition for subsidies for the development of the agro-tourist complex "Own Farm." In addition to the listed projects, improvement of the family leisure park "Kurlan" is underway in Melekessky District, Ulyanovsk Region. In 2019, the regional Agency for Tourism provided financial support to OOO "Otdyh Sport Turizm" as one of the winners of the competition, within which facilities of the tourism industry received subsidies. It is planned to open a rink with the capacity of 50 people, to expand the slope for snowboarding and to prepare at least 5 km of pistes by the next winter season. A new cable railway has already been installed in the park; 13 slides are available for children and adults.

In 2020, legal entities, individual entrepreneurs and other physical entities working in the Ulyanovsk region to develop tourism infrastructure and to promote regional tourism can receive support in the form of subsidies. The regional budget includes 5 million rubles for this purpose.

According to Ruslan Gainetdinov, Chairman of the Board of Ulyanovsk Region Entrepreneurship Development Corporation, the hospitality industry is provided with a special programme of loan financing on soft terms at 3% per annum. The first application has already been received.
