Investment Projects to Create More Than 300 New Jobs in Terengulsky District

Sergey Morozov, Governor of Ulyanovsk region, came to the municipal entity with a working visit.

Sergey Morozov said, “New projects in agriculture will provide a stimulus to the development of this district. It is important to pay attention to the surrounding infrastructure - repair of the road network, illumination and land improvement. Several major investment projects in the sphere of poultry and livestock are currently at different stages of implementation in Terengulsky District. We pay particular attention to these industries. For example, the region has developed support measures for poultry farming. One of our priorities is to provide residents of the region with high-quality domestically-made poultry meat and eggs. The region has created mechanisms to attract new investors by introducing one of the advanced legislative frameworks in Russia, which increase investment activities in the industries associated with the agro-industrial complex.”

In 2020-2023, it is planned to implement a large project on construction of a modern poultry farm in Terengulsky District. The hatchery will produce eggs will use the latest resource-saving technologies. The planned investment volume will total more than 6.9 billion rubles; the project will also create more than 250 new jobs with the average salary of 25-30 thousand rubles per month.

According to experts of the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation, the facility will produce up to 70 million eggs per year; the product will be sent to poultry farms of the Ulyanovsk region and the Volga Federal District, which will decrease import dependence of the region in this sphere. The farm will use new manufacturing technologies that ensure the high quality and safety of made goods.

The Government of the Ulyanovsk region is going to use various measures to support implementation of the project. For example, it will receive the status of the significant investment project, thanks to which the project will be provided with assistance in building the transport and engineering infrastructure, as well as recruiting of specialists. If necessary, Kuzovatovsky Technological College will train students in additional qualifications. Support will be provided within the specialized state programme to subsidize the costs associated with purchase of equipment and product sales.

According to Mikhail Semyonkin, Deputy Chairman of the Government - Minister of Agro-Industrial Complex and Rural Development of Ulyanovsk Region, 15 out of 24 municipalities of the region are currently implementing investment projects in agriculture and processing industries. He said, “The planned investment volume will total 20.7 billion rubles, which will create about 3,300 new jobs. Implementation of investment projects will improve the social and economic situation in Terengulsky District, as well as contribute to development of the poultry and livestock farming throughout the region.”

For example, Mikhaylovka (a village in Terengulsky District) is building a livestock facility for 2,000 heads of Kalmyk cattle on the area of about eight thousand hectares. The company produces its own fodders and has all necessary pastures. About 70 heads of cattle were imported in early 2020; it is planned to purchase about 120 more animals this June. In addition, currently about one thousand hectares of land are used for cultivation of perennial plants to provide the farm with fodder supplies. Full-scale implementation of the project will create 50 new jobs.
