Two New Poultry Facilities to Be Built in Ulyanovsk Region in 2020
On 9 June, Governor Sergey Morozov visited Novomalyklinsky District and examined OOO "EkoFermaRus", which is implementing a phased investment project on construction of a poultry farm.
The Governor emphasized, “EkoFermaRus shows good growth rates. At the current stage, the livestock population has reached almost 35 thousand animals. Two poultry houses have already been reconstructed, and we have built a feeding and slaughter facilities and an incubator. The company receives subsidies for development of economic activities in the field of animal husbandry. A new broiler farming building will be established at the farm this autumn. This will double the output. The investment amounts to 30 million rubles. Such projects allow us to gradually increase production of poultry meat and eggs in the region. So, for example, a poultry farm "Ulyanovskaya" is currently under reconstruction in Cherdaklinsky District; it is planned to create poultry farms in Terengulsky and Melekessky Districts. In general, it is planned to implement 27 investment projects (worth 21.2 billion rubles) in the agro-industrial complex in 2020.”
According to Mikhail Semenkin, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, farms in the Ulyanovsk region have 1.2 million birds of all categories as of 1 May; this number has increased by 1.3% compared to the level of 2019. He said, “Last year, the region produced 4.6 thousand tons of live weight poultry meat, which is by 43.7% higher than in 2018. According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, in 2020, poultry output in the country will reach 6.74 million tons, which is by 0.5% more than last year. Egg production will grow to 44.91 billion units (by 0.1%). This year, OOO "EkoFermaRus" is planning to begin construction of two new poultry facilities and to install two additional incubators for 90 thousand eggs, which will bring the number of birds to 100 thousand per shift.”
According to specialists of the relevant agency, since 2016 the company has been implementing a phased investment project. It will produce one thousand tons of poultry meat, as well as sell of up to two million broiler chickens per year. Currently, the facility employs ten people. At the full capacity, the number of employees will increase to 50.
“To date, the company has invested 50 million rubles from its own funds for implementation of the project. In September 2019, birds laid the first 25 thousand eggs. To recover part of the costs associated with development of economic activities in livestock, we have received subsidies from the budget of the Ulyanovsk region since 2018. In 2018 we got 2.18 million rubles; and 10.25 million rubles in 2019,” - said Nikita Konovalov, Director of OOO "EkoFermaRus".
