Ulyanovsk Region Manufacturers Two Thousand Protective Suits a Day

Shortly before the Day of Textile and Light Industry, Governor Sergey Morozov presented awards to the best employees of OOO "Boston".

The experience accumulated over the years allowed the company to repurpose its facilities quickly and to start production of medical and reusable face masks. At the same time, the factory also started manufacturing protective suits and overshoes - two thousand items per day.

The head of the region said, “This year, textile and light industry enterprises have drastically changed their activities and have joined the fight against coronavirus disease. Thanks to their efforts, we were able to provide workers of essential industries and residents of the region with masks as quickly as possible; people working in hospitals also received protective suits. We would not be able to do it without such uninterrupted production in the region. That is why this year, I would like to express my most heartfelt thanks to the workers of these enterprises.”

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, regional enterprises quickly established production of personal protective equipment. More than 80 organizations are involved in this work and more than 100 thousand face masks are made every day.

During the meeting on the situation in the industry, President Vladimir Putin noted that light industry plays a special role in the country's life. Saturation of the domestic market with vitally important high-quality products and goods that people use on a daily basis depends on the smooth work of textile, garments and footwear enterprises.

The President instructed the Government of the Russian Federation to increase subsidies for servicing the loans extended to the light industry companies, as well as the ones for equipment leasing. He also set the task to draft a decision on prioritizing Russian light industry goods during state agencies and state corporations’ purchases; it is also necessary to develop a comprehensive set of measures to create the best conditions for light industry enterprises.
