Third Caravan of Kindness (Karavan Dobra) Starts in Ulyanovsk Region
This charity event dedicated to the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity started on 6 July as part of the thematic week within the national project "Demography".
Governor Sergey Morozov said, “This is the third Caravan this year. We continue providing targeted aid to families with children. In 2020 alone, more than 1,500 volunteers took part in the motor rally. I would like to thank all passionate residents of the region who joined this kind event. In total, two thousand kits will be delivered to the municipalities of the region this time.”
On 6 July, 500 food kits were sent to the districts of the Ulyanovsk region from the regional center.
“This time, support will be mainly provided to families who have distinguished themselves - the ones with many children, as well as activists, participants of the Family of the Year contest and volunteers. We want to reward them to celebrate the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity. We are planning to bring everything by 8 July,” - said Olga Bogorodetskaya, Director of the charitable foundation "Dari Dobro" and Adviser to the Governor of Ulyanovsk Region on Charity.
The region has been actively providing its residents with product kits since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. The overall budget used to create them is provided by the sponsors and the municipalities.
“Social welfare workers identify citizens in need of food aid. We address residents' applications on a daily basis and deliver product kits working closely with volunteers. As of today, more than 52 thousand residents of the region have already received such assistance,” - said Ramilya Belova, Deputy Director of the social welfare institution of Ulyanovsk Region.
Traditionally, the motor rally is joined by regular participants, volunteers and representatives of the Ulyanovsk Region Government. Deputies of the Ulyanovsk City Duma also joined the event.
“Deputies and their offices have been working as volunteer headquarters for several months. Together with assistants, we pack kits every day and distribute them to residents. Of course, we receive feedback, as well as new applications from citizens who live in difficult circumstances; we try to address each of them,” - commented Ilya Nozhechkin, Chairman of Ulyanovsk City Duma.
