SEZ "Ulyanovsk" Starts Construction of Wood-Polymer Composite Plant

Governor Sergey Morozov visited the construction site of Holzhof Rus on 15 July.



Sergey Morozov said, “The special economic zone is a promising platform to place new facilities working in various industries, as well as to develop freight logistics and international trade. Its duty-free zone regime helps to increase export of products made in the Ulyanovsk region.”

The new resident's project involves construction of a plant for production of trim molding made of wood-polymer composites; decking in particular. The product sold by the company is used to build harbors and piers for private and passenger ships, as well as to set up pavilions and terraces in country houses.

According to Sergey Vasin, Head of Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation, investments into the project will make 100 million rubles. About 30 new jobs will be created for residents of the Ulyanovsk region. The launch of this facility is scheduled for the second quarter of 2021.

The expert board the port special economic zone met on 7 July and approved a proposal to support the business plan of AO "Holzhof Rus".

The head of the region also visited a facility of AO "Promtech-Ulyanovsk", another resident of the port special economic zone. The plant has been manufacturing aircraft onboard cable networks and pipe systems since 2013. Sergey Morozov and management of the company discussed prospects for development of the enterprise in Ulyanovsk.
