New Plant in Cherdaklinsky District to Make Five Thousand Kilograms of Semi-Finished Meat Products Per Shift
On 3 October, Governor of Ulyanovsk Region Sergey Morozov examined the enterprise that was launched as part of an investment project with facilities for production of semi-finished goods and cattle slaughter.
The meat-processing plant has the capacity of 100 heads of cattle per day and includes a production shop to supply the social sector with food.
The head of the region said, “Mirny now has a unique meat-processing plant that can make five thousand kilograms of semi-finished products per shift. Our children should eat as many safe and quality products as possible! Such high-tech food facilities in municipalities are another step to meet the highest regional standards for school meals. More than a hundred jobs will be created at the plant. Today I listened to the report regarding complaints left for me on social networks about the quality of food in schools. Once again, I would like to thank parents for their feedback. We will address each complaint.”
The region's food industry has been one of the fastest growing sectors in recent years. After the first eight months of 2020, the total output index made 103.8%. As far as various types of food made in January-August 2020 are concerned, processing and packing of meat and meat products amounted to 185.5%, while production of meat semi-finished products made 191.3%.
Thanks to the investment project, 105 jobs are to be created. Currently, the company employs 50 people.
“This project will encourage development of beef cattle husbandry, which along with the dairy one is among the priority areas for the Ministry of Agriculture of Ulyanovsk Region. To provide the plant with all necessary raw materials, we need to triple the amount of beef cattle. Starting from 2021, a separate programme called "Smart Farm" will become active; it will receive additional funding as part of the state support. Thanks to such projects, we will address issues connected with the safety and quality of social catering. All products should meet the highest standards,” - said Mikhail Semenkin, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agro-Industrial Complex and Rural Development of Ulyanovsk Region.
“At the moment, pre-commissioning activities have been completed and the facility has reached 10% of its maximum capacity. We are working on the meat production technology and recipes. It is planned to purchase a full automated line by the new year to manufacture semi-finished products, which will satisfy the demand of all schools, kindergartens and hospitals,” - commented Edgar Krasauskas, Director General of OOO "A-GROUP".
