Ulyanovsk Enterprises to Make School Buses

The decree was signed by Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.


Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) is included in the list of manufacturers that will make domestic school buses for the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation in 2020.

“Of course, in addition to the main automobile plant, implementation of the contract will involve our other enterprises from the industrial cooperation chain. These are manufacturers of automotive components and accessories such as Avtodom. The total order of 440 vehicles is significant operating rates. I would like to remind you that this year all Russian regions have already received ambulances manufactured in the Ulyanovsk region. Our enterprises once again have a great responsibility,” - said Governor Sergey Morozov.

"Аor a number of years, Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant and Ford Sollers Joint Venture have been releasing vehicles intended for children transportation as part of their commercial line of minibus modifications based on UAZ PROFI and Ford Transit. Thanks to constructive cooperation with the Government of the region, child-care and preschool facilities will receive modern and safe automotive equipment," - said Adil Shirinov, CEO of UAZ, LLC, President of Ford Sollers Joint Venture.

This year, Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has already completed the programme of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian federation and supplied 653 type C ambulances made with the use of Ford Transit and UAZ Profi chassis. These vehicles were later used by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

In total, it is planned to produce 78 buses based on UAZ and 362 vehicles based on Ford. The Ulyanovsk region will receive 19 UAZ buses (designed for 13-20 passengers) with the standard all-wheel drive and 13 Ford ones. In addition, two more buses (designed for 25-31 passengers) manufactured by PAZ, LLC, will be shipped to the region too.
