Governor Sergey Morozov and Sergey Kogogin, Director General of KAMAZ PTC, discussed future development during a meeting in Moscow.
The head of the region emphasized, “The project has become quite successful, we can see that the land here is in high demand among residents. To date, twenty-four companies have commissioned more than 50 thousand square meters of production facilities and office premises in the industrial park. More than 500 new jobs have been created since the park's establishment. We agreed that we should continue developing it in the future. Starting next year, we must work to launch the third stage of the industrial park "Master" and to commission at least another 25 thousand square meters of space.”
Dimitrovgrad industrial park "Master" was opened in 2018 at the free areas of DAAZ. The founders are Kamsky Industrial Park "Master" (KIP Master), a subsidiary of KAMAZ PTC, and the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation. The Government of the region actively participates in implementation of the project and provides financial support. In 2019, 44 million rubles were allocated from the regional budget; it is planned to allocate another 100 million rubles for development of the park's infrastructure in 2020. In addition, the project has also received federal support: 500 million rubles were used for development of the industrial park in 2019-2020. The park's residents include such companies as Torsion-D, Polesie DG, Avtosvet, AVP-Rotang, DAZ, Prisma and others.
“Currently, the plant is in a stable working condition. We have plans for future development of Dimitrovgrad Automobile Units Plant. We are going to implement several projects at the Dimitrovgrad site, the city has really good specialists in the field of stamping and metallurgy. In addition, this is on-site outsourcing as part of our activities are transferred to the subsidiaries. The plant will have a stable workload next year,” - said Sergey Kogogin, Director General of KAMAZ PTC.
DAAZ industrial park has industrial and administrative facilities, storage areas and all necessary infrastructure such as roads, railway tracks, utility networks and power resources. The site is equipped with lifting devices and electricity, water and heat supply lines.
Alexander Smekalin, Chairman of the Government of Ulyanovsk Region, explained that one of the tasks is to move away from the mono-consumer, as well as to continue training qualified personnel and improving workers' skills. He said, “Kamaz is actively taking part in various social projects. For example, we agreed to join the Quantorium project. It will be a good basis to improve skills and to support faculty members. In addition, we are planning to implement a joint project to create a mobile quantorium in the region based on the KAMAZ К5 truck. We should complete this project in 2021.”
