Production Line at Ulyanovsk Bridgestone Plant Receives Tyre Marking Equipment

On 23 December, Marina Alekseeva (First Deputy Chairman of the Government of Ulyanovsk Region) visited the enterprise in Zavolzhye Industrial Park and examined the new site.


“The company promptly completed new requirements of Russian legislation. According to them, starting from 1 November, 2020, all automobile tires used in the country must be marked in order to avoid fake products. The enterprise has changed its manufacturing processes and introduced new marking equipment to the production line,” - said the First Deputy Chairman.

Quickly responding to new federal standards, the company met the deadlines set by regulations. The changes required major investment. The plant is one of the largest production facilities in the region. The Japanese company has provided more than 16 billion rubles for the economy of the Ulyanovsk region.

“About 750 residents of the region are working here today. Despite the difficult epidemiological and economic conditions in the country, as well as the overall decline at the automotive market, the company has not dismissed a single employee this year. It even continues recruiting new specialists,” - said Sergey Vasin, Director General of the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation.

By order of Governor Sergey Morozov, during a visit to the plant, Jeffrey Glover (Director General at Bridgestone Tire Manufacturing C.I.S.) received a regional award in the Responsible Employer nomination for retention of staff, development of human resources and creation of high-tech jobs.

The plant observes all necessary safety measures. Since the introduction of restrictive measures dur to the spread of coronavirus infection, Bridgestone Tire Manufacturing C.I.S. has been working in accordance with all requirements of the federal and regional legislation. The company follows rules connected with safety measures and the number of employees. Workers are provided with personal protective equipment. The plant also successfully passed the audit of the regional monitoring group.
