The Ulyanovsk region participates in the WorldSkills Russia movement at the initiative of Governor Sergey Morozov.
“Despite the difficult conditions, 274 people from 38 professional and educational organizations and ten general education institution of the Ulyanovsk region took part in the championship this year. The championship is becoming more and more prestigious and interesting with every passing year. In particular, this is true for participants themselves as they get the opportunity to prove that they are the best in their sphere and deserve not only appreciation of the expert jury, but also promising jobs, good salaries and new levels of personal and professional development. Russia needs ambitious, bold and broad-minded professionals. I would like to note that the Government and the Ministry of Education and Upbringing of Ulyanovsk Region will continue to pay a lot of attention to training of highly-skilled personnel. We will also introduce advanced educational standards in our colleges and lyceums. I see this as the key to successful development of the regional and domestic economy that will also improve its competitiveness,” - said Natalya Semenova, Minister of Education and Upbringing of Ulyanovsk Region.
Forty winners in each of the 27 skills were identified through the tournaments. These people are now part of the national team, which will represent the Ulyanovsk region in qualifying rounds.
“This is the first time I participate in the championship. I have prepared for it for a long time. So glad I won! I believe that this is a good result, and I will continue training even harder for the next stage,” - said Vladislav Selkov, a student at Dimitrovgrad Technical College.
