Jokey Ulyanovsk to Increase Its Production Capacity

On 11 February, Sergey Morozov (Governor of Ulyanovsk Region) visited the plant in Zavolzhye Industrial Park and discussed with its management completed work and plans for 2021.

“I am glad to hear that Jokey Ulyanovsk is planning to expand its production facilities in the region. This means that new jobs will be created for our citizens. The plant has been working in the Ulyanovsk region for six years and has already reached

its full capacity. Investments into the site total one billion rubles. The company has more than 60 employees now. The plant meets the highest performance standards. The products are shipped to more and more regions of the Russian Federation,” - said Sergey Morozov.

The agreement on implementation of the investment project was signed between the Government of the Ulyanovsk Region, the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation and Jokey Ulyanovsk in July 2012. Construction of the plant started in August 2013; it was commissioned in 2015. The official opening ceremony took place on 24 February, 2016. This is the first plant of Jokey Plastik (Germany) in Russia. It produces plastic packaging for the food and construction industries. About 500 million rubles were invested in the facility and production startup; the company provided another 500 million rubles to purchase new equipment and to develop its activities over the next five years.

“We have purchased and installed additional automatic molding machine and robot-equipped manipulators. Another warehouse was built and commissioned to store raw and secondary materials. Currently, the plant has all necessary production equipment. We additionally invested more than 120 million rubles into the enterprise last year. Our plans for this year include money for new production facilities and equipment, and we are also going to develop a new range of products at the request of our customers,” - said Mikhail Balovnev, Deputy Director General of OOO "Jokey Ulyanovsk".

As of today, the plant has reached 100% of its localization capacity.

“Even during the difficult period caused by the pandemic, the company did not stop and continued working while observing all the necessary safety precautions specified by the Russian Federal State Agency for Health and Consumer Rights (Rospotrebnadzor). The products made by the Ulyanovsk plant are in demand. The staff work in three shifts and receive good salaries - the average one is more than 60 thousand rubles. The customers include companies working in the region; for example, the plant of Henkel Bautechnik for production of dry construction mixtures. In addition, about 10% of the products made by Jokey Ulyanovsk are exported,” - said Sergey Vasin, CEO of the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation.
