Ulyanovsk Region Opens Center of Volga Federal District Museum Volunteer
The facility will start working at I.A.Goncharov Historical and Memorial Center Museum on 18 May.
“Such a Center provides an excellent opportunity to develop the volunteer movement in the region. Participants will be able to start thematic events, as well as to create products that will later become part of creative activities at cultural establishments," said Natalya Rogozhkina, community manager at the Volunteer Centers Association "Volunteers of Culture”.
The Center of Volga Federal District Museum Volunteer includes a technical laboratory that is used to create unique content. Volunteers will work and create podcasts there. It was possible to create such a base thanks to the project "Ulyanovsk - City of Labour Valour. We Will Remember" ("Ulyanovsk – gorod trudovoy doblesti. Sohranim pamyat"), which implementation is funded by grants of the regional Government.
According to Evgenya Sidorova, Acting Minister of Art and Cultural Policy of Ulyanovsk Region, museums of the Volga Federal District include 75 specialized facilities. Ulyanovsk is a center that coordinates work in this sphere in the Volga Federal District. Establishment of a permanent institution will bring museum volunteering to a new level. “For young people, voluntary work at museums is a great way to improve their social skills including leadership and communication ones, to find like-minded people, and to learn something new. Helping museums is an opportunity to look at their work from the inside, to learn how exhibitions and projects are prepared, to try your hand at holding quests, classes, events and master classes,” emphasized Evgenya Sidorova.
As part of the opening ceremony, agreements on joint volunteer activities were officially signed by the Ulyanovsk Regional Museum of Local Lore, the Ulyanovsk State Pedagogical University and the Ulyanovsk Vocational Pedagogical College.
The Center of Volga Federal District Museum Volunteer was opened within the national project "Culture" approved by President Vladimir Putin.
