Ulyanovsk Region: New Enterprises to Create More Than 1,600 Jobs in 2021

On 23 June, Aleksey Russkikh held a meeting with Alexander Smekalin (Prime Minister) and Sergey Vasin (Director General at Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation), during which he listened to a report on investment activities.

“Ulyanovsk region offers businesses some of the best conditions for implementation of investment projects in the country. We have created effective legal framework in this industry, as well as support mechanisms that we are constantly improving. While working with investors, special attention should be paid to social programmes that support employees. It is important for us that enterprises coming to the region are able to provide good salaries and are environmentally responsible,” said Aleksey Russkikh.

Sergey Vasin reported that currently, the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation supports 118 projects with the total investment of 113.8 billion rubles. Thanks to them, investors will create more than 14,500 jobs for residents of the region.

“In 2021, it is planned to complete 18 projects worth about 10 billion rubles. New enterprises will create jobs for more than 1,600 residents of the region. Four projects have already been launched in early 2021,” said the head of the Development Corporation.

Several facilities have been put into operation. They include OOO "PK Sedrus Povolzhie", a construction materials plant in Sengileevsky District; a new production laboratory of the All-Russian Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM) for polymer composite materials and coatings; a multipurpose health center "Citilab" of OOO "Laus Deo" in Dimitrovgrad; and Holzhof Rus plant located in the Special Economic Zone that makes trim moldings with the use of wood-polymer composites.

Some investment projects have already been completed. Nemak will open a new building for the production of automotive components; Legrand has an electrical equipment plant; Arkhbum Public Joint Stock Company manufactures corrugated cardboard packaging; "Galen" will manufacture modern composite materials in the Port Special Economic Zone (PSEZ); OOO "Polesie DG" is going to launch the second stage of toy production; a fish farm will be opened in the Bogdashkino settlement, Cherdaklinsky District; and IFEX Technologies now has a plant for production of Pulse-type fire extinguishing equipment.
