Ulyanovsk Region Concludes Three Agricultural Agreements
The documents were signed by Vladimir Razumkov (Chairman of the Government of Ulyanovsk Region) and management of investor companies. The event took place during the regional Day of Field on 25 June. During the meeting, the participants discussed results of the spring sowing season.
One of the investment projects includes construction of a 600-head livestock breeding unit in the region, which will create 26 new jobs.
It is also planned to build a diary unit for 300 cows. Implementation of this project will bring 32 new jobs.
The third agreement provides for construction and upgrade of the grain elevator, usage of idle land plots for cultivation, and crop production. The facility will introduce 70 new jobs.
During the meeting, Mikhail Semenkin, Acting Minister of Agro-Industrial Complex and Rural Development of Ulyanovsk Region, reported that the spring sowing campaign was successful. He also thanked people who participated in it.
This year, 763 thousand hectares of land were used in the Ulyanovsk region, which makes 103.5% of the planned area. Compared to last year, the territory under sowing increased by 70 thousand hectares (10%). In addition, the region met and exceeded the planned targets for strategically important crops such as sugar beet, potatoes and vegetables in general.
Participants of the meeting also discussed future use of the idle agricultural land. Currently, there are about 138 hectares of it in the Ulyanovsk region. According to the calculations, they can provide 400 thousand tons of grain. This is practically one third of the harvest that the region got last year.
The best agricultural workers also received different rewards for their achievements.
